What is the Club's purpose?
We are a Yacht Club consisting of both power and sail boat owners. It is a non-profit corporation created to promote safe boating, to encourage the sport of yachting, the science of seamanship and navigation and to foster camaraderie and good fellowship among its members.
Our members are located in various marinas in the beautiful Upper Chesapeake Bay. Since we are a volunteer organization and we have no clubhouse to maintain, we have neither overheads nor minimum monthly charges escalate the cost of membership. All of your membership dues are spent for the benefit of our members.
What is the Club's history?
Upon dissolution of the Eastern Shore Yacht Club, several of its members led by Howard Wisch and David Allen expressed an interest in forming a new club, On April 4, 1991, we held our inaugural meeting with fourteen charter memberships. . On February 3, 1993, Commodore Wisch attended the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club Association (CBYCA) meeting at the Mt. Vernon Yacht Club and initiated our membership into the CBYCA. We could now stay in other yacht clubs around the Bay as an official yacht club. And the cruises and socials have continued to this day. Events in the past have included week-end and longer cruises, poker runs and picnics.
